Inspired by London’s Tower Bridge, the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge in Terengganu is a new attraction in this east coast city, having opened for public use since 1st August, 2019, following five years of construction at the cost of RM248 million.

This drawbridge (or bascule bridge), spanning 638 metres, connects Muara Utara (North Bank) to Muara Selatan (South Bank). It is the fourth bridge in Kuala Terengganu City that straddles the river. The other three are the Sultan Mahmud Bridge, Manir Bridge and Pulau Sekati Bridge.

Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge is the first drawbridge not only in Malaysia but also Southeast Asia, and is part of the projects for the East Coast Economic Region (ECER). It is also a component in the development of Kuala Terengganu City Centre (KTCC).

This bridge consists of four 15-storey towers; each set of two towers are connected by a skybridge, creating a lobby that houses a commercial area as well as a restaurant respectively.
