JKM Contact Numbers for Assistance During MCO

Malaysia has been under Restricted Movement Order (RMO) or Movement Control Order (MCO) since 18th March, 2020. It is expected to be lifted on 14th April, but this Order will be reviewed on 10th April. Hopefully, there is no extension.

This is not an easy time for all of us. While some people welcome the opportunity to spend time at home doing nothing, there are others who worry where their next meal comes from.

The latter is a vulnerable group, usually daily wagers who are unable to put food on the table as they are disallowed to work during MCO.

There is a Facebook page of the Caremongering Community to assist such people, with the distribution of food hampers or some other form of aid.

Another avenue to seek aid is through the government’s welfare department or Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM).

About ten days ago, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had asked non-governmental organisations to channel aid via the various state welfare offices, to prevent untoward incidents. Moreover, members of the public are not supposed to be out and about during MCO implementation.

Do help to spread the word, and inform the needy to contact the above-mentioned offices of respective states.

With love
