ISPCA World Animal Day 2014

Compared to the previous day’s World Animal Day celebration organised by Noah’s Ark in Ipoh Garden South, this ISPCA’s event attracted more attention.
180 dogs, their owners and families gathered at the Kinta River Walk as early as 9am to participate in the morning’s activities that included Pet-a-thon (pet walking), pet street performance and pet beauty contest.
The dogs, which came in all sizes, colours and markings, were mainly pedigrees. It was not surprising as this event was a collaboration with Malaysian Kennel Association (MKA).
All dogs in Pet-a-thon received a certificate of participation and some sponsored pet goodies.
Besides activities that involved pets, actually, only dogs were there despite it being an event to celebrate animals, many booths were set up that sold food and accessories, for animals and also their owners.
I would like to believe that 100% of proceeds went to ISPCA, because I was not informed about the quantum.
All in all, an event such as this that brought pet owners together, hopefully has created awareness in responsible pet ownership.
