I.S.P.C.A. Fundraising Drive
I was rushing to find a good spot to catch the CNY musical performance at Kinta City at 8pm last evening when someone pulled my arm and wouldn’t let me go. I didn’t know who it was as I was looking at the centre stage and all I said was that I want to watch the show. Actually, I wanted to video it but since I was delayed at the supermarket, the front row on the ground floor and 1st floor were already occupied.
Turned out that the person who was holding on to my arm was Dr. Goh Hue Lang who runs Klinik Haiwan Taman Ipoh Sdn. Bhd. She had been my pets’ vet for as long as I could remember; probably twenty years or longer but I am sure that she only recognized me by looks and does not know my name.
I understand that she is a volunteer vet with I.S.P.C.A. and also Vice President of the Society. Anyway, she asked me to support their fundraising efforts but I said that I wanted to watch the show first.
I later went back to the stall after watching the performance for 20 minutes because it’s the same Chinese instrumental performance as the one previously. Some of the musicians even wore the same clothes! That’s why I didn’t bother to shoot any videos or photos.
Anyway, I picked up a bookmark from them to support their cause. They actually have a few other items for sale besides bookmarks; I saw t-shirts, cookies, muffins and even mini food hampers. They may have sold some other things too because when I was there, it was already towards the end of the day. I understand that they would be in Kinta City for one day (yesterday) only.
The bookmark that I bought, at RM2, is of a very cute puppy with the wordings, “Happiness is having a snooze in a loving home …” They do have other designs as well but all of them have been printed with the contact information of I.S.P.C.A. (The Ipoh Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) on the flip side. I thought that’s a smart promotional effort!
I.S.P.C.A., like all animal shelters, is in need of donations and volunteers. More importantly, they need you to provide a warm and loving home for one of their dogs or cats at the shelter. For more details, visit the website of ISPCA.

Yo Happy Chinese New Year.
Hi My name is Catherine. I ‘am a newly member of I.S.P.C.A .
I wish I.S.P.C.A can do fundraising in SITIAWAN , PERAK and also can spread awareness of animal abuse.
I also do hope that one can open an animal shelter in Sitiawan, Perak too, because there’s lot of strays dogs and cats need to be home.
May I know when the next Food fair or event for 2014. Please keep me posted. Thank you
