After that, they were feted with a simple yet delicious meal, thanks to generous sponsors of a number of F&B tenants of the mall. As they lunched, Mr. Potato took to the stage to entertain the children, who not only laughed their heads off but also volunteered themselves as an assistant to the entertainer when he requested for one.

Shortly after, it was time for gift giving. The children had their three wishes displayed on a notice board at the Main Atrium of the mall for the past one month. These wishes were about to be granted! Who wouldn’t be excited?

According to Ipoh Parade Centre Manager Mr. Chan Yu Yin, “Although 2016 has been a pretty rough year economically for many people, we are incredibly blessed and thankful that our tenants and shoppers came all out to support our campaign by generously donating gifts to these children. It is at times like these that we are reminded of the goodness that resides in many people’s hearts. Together, we are able to make this place a better one for the entire community.”

Indeed, it is better to give than to receive, and this kind gesture is not solely confined to the Yuletide season. Seeing the pure joy that shone through the children’s eyes, the effort put in to pull this campaign off successfully was really worth it.

During a press conference to announce this campaign, two charitable organisations received donations of RM10,000 each, from the Tan Sri Tan Foundation, which was represented by foundation council member Dato’ Richard Ong.

The recipients, Perak Palliative Care Society was represented by Mrs. Gauddi Roy while Mr. Walter was present on behalf of Bethany Home of Teluk Intan, Perak.

This is the first year the Tan Sri Tan Foundation is collaborating with Ipoh Parade mall owners, ARA Asset Management Limited (ARA), to reach out to even more needy folk in the community.

Besides these two charitable organisations, Tan Sri Tan Foundation is also donating RM10,000 each to six other organisations, through three other malls owned by ARA as part of the larger ARA CARES (Comprehensive Assistance & Responsible Engagement Services) initiative, during this Christmas season.
