The Ipoh Depressed Cake Shop 2014

Today, I would like to share with you some of the cakes that were sold at yesterday’s Ipoh Depressed Cake Shop, the one-day only bake sale that was hosted at Burps & Giggles.

Some of the cakes were donated by bakeries, some homemade, and some were entries in the “most creative and original Depressed Cake” contest.

However these grey cakes ended up on the counter, the idea of gloomy cakes and some cheerful ones that carried positive vibes such as “Silver lining”, received good response from Ipoh folks who streamed in throughout the day to shop.

How much money did the event raise for Ipoh Befrienders and Perak Palliative Care Society (PPCS)? I am sure we will read about it soon enough in the news.

One thing I am sure of is that The Ipoh Depressed Cake Shop certainly had people talking about depression and mental health issues without being embarrassed about it.
