Ipoh Chin Woo Northern Lion & Dragon Dance Performances
My friends from Ipoh Chin Woo gave a public performance of their Northern Lion followed by a dragon dance at Ipoh Parade yesterday evening. I decided at the last minute to support them with my presence.
As you can see, I didn’t take many photos because I just wanted to appreciate their skill which I rarely have the chance to!
By the way, Ipoh Parade has lined up a number of entertainment for shoppers today, so go ahead and check them out.

Didn’t know you could learn kung fu in ipoh. You writing about ipoh makes me quite intrigued. my father is from Teluk Intan, which is not too far away, so I’ve always been curious about Ipoh. Need to get to know it more. Maybe you can show me round the next time I’m there. 🙂
The Lion Dance performers have nerves of steel when they do the pole jumping acts!
Seldom see Northern Lion Dance in public performances, I remember saw it last time at a Chinese Association CNY open house 🙂
is it necessary to see the lion dance everyday for CNY? I’m seeing a lot of the dancing lions and I’m curious, so much rave about it
Long time never see a lion dance but that’s a dragon right? That Lion is the Lion Dog from China (Pi Tzu) if not mistaken hehe…
