It was an evening of glamour and glitter at the International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW) 2017 charity gala dinner last Friday. The 3-day IIFW 2017, brainchild of Mr. Louis Sebastian and wife Ms. Adeline Khan, was hosted in Ipoh in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2017.

Held for the first time in Perak, this fashion week was unlike any other as it was a charity event to raise funds for Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun’s paediatric oncology unit. The organisers managed to raise RM40,000 within a short period of time.

Of course, when it comes to medical expenses, there is never enough money, especially for childhood cancer. Treatment is long-drawn and takes an average of three years to successfully treat a child patient.

For general information, the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun’s paediatric oncology unit sees 50 – 60 new patients a year, which translates to a new patient a week. Therefore, members of the public are strongly urged to continue to support the cause.
