Impiana Hotel Ipoh Chinese New Year 2014 Celebration
World champion traditional lion and dragon dance troupe, Chin Woo Ipoh, provided the obligatory Chinese New Year performance with two lions and a dragon at Impiana Hotel Ipoh on the third day of Spring Festival.
The energetic performance certainly attracted the attention of hotel guests and curious onlookers. Staff and management of the hotel, including General Manager Kamarudin Kassim, were present too, to usher in the Year of the Horse.
Just like last year’s Chinese New Year celebration here, an 88ft long firecrackers was also set off. The din created undoubtedly chased away whatever evil spirits, if the drums and cymbals of the lion and dragon dance had not!
Guests also had the opportunity to join in the tossing of “yee sang”, tossing as high as possible, wishing for a great Year of the Horse ahead that is filled with an abundance of good tidings, from health to happiness and most of all, prosperity!
The morning’s Chinese New Year celebration finally wrapped up with a performance by Simson Chinese Orchestra, a four-piece orchestra comprising the Yangqing, Erhu, Dizi and GuZheng, playing Chinese New Year festive music.
