Yours truly spent yesterday afternoon enjoying the Hi-Tea spread at the Coffee House. I had to hold myself back from stuffing my face. The food was delectable and the spread, generous. If you didn’t know, Impiana Hotel Ipoh’s Hi-Tea is unlike many other hotels in town that serve lighter food.

In terms of variety, the Hi-Tea buffet at IHI is no different from its lunch buffet spread. Even for Hi-Tea, there’s Soup, Salad, Mains, Desserts, Fruits and Beverages.

Go through all these photos to see the Hi-Tea buffet served yesterday. Tweaks are made to the menu regularly and improved according to feedback from diners. In any case, there will not be two days when the menu is 100% similar.

In fact, there are more action stalls during weekend hi-tea buffets, including the permanent feature of the Lok Lok stall. The idea of bringing this street fare into the hotel is from the General Manager himself, Mr. Gerard Sta Maria, who shared that Lok Lok (乐乐 or dip dip) brings back childhood memories of eating food off skewers by the roadside with the family. Now, we can indulge in this Malaysian street fare in a more comfortable environment.

To me, the best thing about the Lok Lok stall as part of the buffet feature is that we don’t need to keep counting the number of skewers, to stick to our lok lok budget. It’s a buffet, duh, so just eat as much as your stomach can take.

Oh yes, another highlight of the action stalls is the signature Dodol Puff. I am unsure if Dodol Puffs are available elsewhere in Ipoh but this is a must-try when dining at the Coffee House! Then of course, there’s the signature cucur udang that the hotel is famous for.

  1. The Lok Lok sold it for me. LOL. Haven’t had Lok Lok for years.
    Impiana Hotel, here I come.

  2. The price is really affordable for today’s standard and just look at the platter of food waiting for you to feast on. Definitely a place there foodies should go. 🙂
