Grand Opening of Lester Yim Boutique
To celebrate the grand opening of his boutique with a new concept, home-grown fashion designer, Lester Yim, hosted a fashion show at his premises in Ipoh Garden South.
Showcasing some 30 pieces of dresses by six gorgeous models, Lester Yim stamped his mark as the designer to watch, with his latest collection.
Dark, mysterious, and of course, sexy, Lester made full use of embroidery netting and lace in his new creations, which were inspired by nature, mainly butterflies and flowers.
The yet-to-be-named collection drew oohs and ahhs from the audience, Lester’s invited guests comprising family members, friends, loyal customers and supporters, some of whom came from Kuala Lumpur just for this exclusive event.
What amazed me was that it took just 18 days for Lester to successfully host the catwalk with 30 elegant creations, starting from scratch.
The fashion show was supported by Eve for shoes and Melvin Chan Makeup Art Academy for makeup-cum-hairdo.
If you are from Ipoh, you would probably have heard of Lester Yim already, especially for women who are into dressing well, or those who patronise the “Women’s Street” in Ipoh Garden South.
Ipoh born, Lester picked up the art in Kuala Lumpur, and honed his skills further in the capital city for many years, until he decided to set up his own fashion label in his hometown of Ipoh in December 2012.
While Lester could easily trade in Kuala Lumpur, which obviously has a more vibrant market, he decided to return so as to elevate the fashion industry in Ipoh city, primarily and Perak generally, by sharing his expertise with other local designers.
At the same time, Lester hopes to expose the community to a better sense of style, without costing an arm and a leg. This is the essence of Lester Yim Couture.
