There are six guides who capably conduct this tour. I was surprised when I learned that the average time required for a guide to pass the special test to conduct this Royal Klang Heritage Walk is one year. It is that difficult with many facts to memorise!

In Malaysia, there are only six heritage walks, including Ipoh Heritage Walk and Georgetown Heritage Walk. However, this walk in Klang is the only “royal” walk in the country.

Check out my photos taken sometime in January 2017. Although these buildings were erected in the late 1880s or early 1990s, they are still so well maintained. That’s why I highly recommend this walking tour to friends for a glimpse of the heritage of Klang, Selangor.

  1. Walk tour is one of my favorite hobby. I always enjoy listening to old stories behind those buildings, parks and bridges before it became famous. And most of the time, you could only hear it from the people who are living in the place for many many years.

If I’m in Klang, I would definitely not pass this opportunity!

  2. Walk tours is the way to go for a better glimpse of local life. I’m always taking walk tours while traveling and this one seems quite fun.

  3. I’ve never tried the Heritage Walk in Klang before, only the one in KL. And I felt like I just had to have a shower by the end of it. Haha. Umbrella or a hand fan is a must when doing these heritage walks.

  4. we will dock in klang at 11:00 am on March 30 aboard NCL Jewel. How do we register for you walking tour?

  5. Hi Anthony,

Since Jewel will be here overnight, you can do the walk on Sunday morning, the 31st.

Do send an email to: product@tourismselangor.my

If you are participating as a group, one person has to take down everyone’s names and register en bloc.
