It was a unique evening at the 14th annual Malam Alam Ratu Kebudayaan.
This charity beauty pageant saw the three major cultures and traditions of Malaysia blending together, with the simultaneous crowning of Kebaya Queen, Cheong Sam Queen, as well as Saree Queen.
The event was organised by the Kinta Cultural & Tourism Association. Proceeds from this occasion were donated to Perak Association for Intellectually Disabled (PAFID).
The 17 contestants, aged between 21 and 59, were clad in resplendent traditional costume of either kebaya, cheong sam or saree.
They took to the catwalk confidently, followed by a self-introductory round, to the cheers and wolf-whistles from their family, friends and fans.
The charming competitors were narrowed down to the top two finalists for each category, and then they were once again adjudged for their eloquence during the Question & Answer session.
After some tense moments, the winners were declared and the queens were crowned. Can you guess who came out victorious that evening?
The Kebaya Queen title went to Lam Woon Nee, Cheong Sam Queen title to Sandy Lee, while Saree Queen was bagged by B. Vivasheni.
Each of them took home a tiara, sash, trophy and cash prize. Congratulations to all the winners!
Phew, what a pageant that was! In truth, all came out winners, for the fact that these amateurs challenged themselves to be up on stage.
