Chap Goh Meh Celebration @ River Walk

Chap Goh Meh, the “fifteenth night” of Chinese New Year, falls on 24th February this year. It’s the Chinese-version Valentine’s Day. While I celebrated this day at Kwan Yin Tong (Goddess of Mercy limestone cave temple) the past couple of years, this year saw me visiting the new attraction in Ipoh, River Walk.

River Walk is the two stretches of riverbanks opposite Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites, which is also accessible via D.R. Seenivasagam Recreational Park. With an abundance of led-lighted trees, I call it the i-City of Ipoh. Best of all, we don’t have to pay any entrance fee!

Oh yeah, this 1 Malaysia Chap Goh Meh Celebration is organised by Kelab Fenion Cina Malaysia and Tourism Perak. Most of the performers are from Qun Sheng Melody. Well, I shan’t write more. Hope you will enjoy today’s photos. 🙂

  1. Just curious to know how many couples successfully tied the knot through this method of picking the boy’s/girl’s orange from the river.
