“HAHAHA!” guffawed the man standing behind me, in reaction to one of the magic tricks performed by Au Young the Clown.
Truly, Au Young, although just performed simple magic tricks, was able to hold the attention of both children and adults, not only with magic but also with his banter in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay.
This multi-lingual clown-cum-magician, who is the man behind Au Young Events, although not in the class of illusionists Cyril Takayama and David Copperfield (yet), never failed to amuse me, even though I have watched his performances numerous times.
Au Young was able to engage with his audience, and the kids were extremely eager to volunteer as a magician’s assistant, as you can see from these photos.
This light entertainment, in conjunction with the celebration of the relaunching of Ipoh Parade, was befitting a relaxing Sunday morning for the family at a shopping complex.
