Care Packs to Ipoh City Council Retirees

Some 105 retirees from the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh) received food packs from the Ipoh City Council’s Retiree Association (PERMAI) on 19th May, Tuesday.

Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi Bin Baharin and PERMAI president Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohamad Rafial Bin Hj. Moktar jointly presented the donation to five representatives from the association.

According to Dato’ Rumaizi, PERMAI members, some of whom are still working after their retirement from the council, have been financially affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO) enactment to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. Other members found difficulty to replenish their home with food supplies due to movement restrictions.

PERMAI was established in 2009 during the tenure of Y.Bhg. Dato’ Hj. Roshidi Hj. Hashim as 8th Ipoh City Mayor, with the primary objective to oversee the welfare of the council’s retired staff, and also to serve as a platform to continue its positive relationship between members and MBI.
