Camera Museum, George Town, Penang
Located along Lebuh Muntri in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in George Town, Penang is Camera Museum, the first of its kind in South East Asia.
Also listed in the Malaysia Book of Records, this Camera Museum which was opened on June 22, 2013, was founded by seven young professional photographers, mostly from Penang.
Possibly the most popular museum in George Town, this museum currently displays more than 300 rare and even antique cameras, dating back to the 1500s.
Although most of these cameras are placed inside glass showcases, there are some where visitors are allowed to touch and feel for themselves how photographs were taken in the old days, including hands-on experience with the world’s oldest camera.
An in-house guide is available upon request, explaining about the cameras and the development of photography technology through the years.

Other highlights of Camera Museum would be the Dark Room, Pinhole Room, Obscura Room and Spy Room.
Besides the Museum, visitors can also spend time at the café called Double Exposure Café or shop for camera-themed souvenirs.
