Bro. John Moh Education Foundation Fundraising Dinner
A cool RM500,000 was raised through a charity dinner for the Bro. John Moh Education Foundation, a private foundation established in 1995, to assist students of the school financially in their pursuit of education.
The foundation was named after the late Rev. Bro. John Moh who had served Sam Tet School as its Brother Director tirelessly and selflessly from 1959 until his retirement in 1992.
Another highlight of the event was the naming of the school library as “Mr. Teoh Kim Bok and Mdm. Lee Choon Hiong Library” after the parents of the Teoh brothers, founders of Andaman Group of Properties, who are alumni of the school. The Teohs are great financial supporters of their former school in recent years.
The occasion saw the support of 800 strong guests, consisting mainly of Old Boys of the school, their family, friends and staff.
There was no lack of entertainment that evening. It was all provided in-house, from the school’s brass band to Kung Fu Society and Dance Club.
Former students also returned to showcase their talent they have honed over the years, the most outstanding is possibly Kavin Lee, from the Class of 1990, who is known as the Anita Mui of Malaysia for his immaculate impersonation of the Cantopop Diva.
The evening winded down with music from surgeon, Dr. Loo Voon San and his band.
