Barely opened for five months, Jaya Grocer Ipoh brought shoppers a repeated presentation of bluefin tuna slicing by Chef Isobe ….. and of course, savouring the freshly prepared tuna sashimi.

The demonstration attracted a huge crowd of local foodies who couldn’t wait to pick at those slices of sashimi with their Japanese chopsticks.

But wait a minute! It’s not something that ordinary folk like me could afford. Just check out the price tag versus the size of the chunk of fish.

Still, there were takers, I was glad to see. It proves that the Ipoh economy is still vibrant. Hahaha!

By the way, this bluefin tuna, with an estimated weight of 60 kilogrammes (my own estimate) came all the way from Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Yumz, I could only imagine.

  1. The price of the tuna Slice super expensive. I can’t afford it but the tuna look so tempting. I wish I can try on it. Yum Yum.

  2. Wow i’m shock looking at the price. but yet there are people buying them, that’s awesome. can imagine the fish is very fresh and tasty.

  3. Oh gosh that is a HUGE tuna! And not very cheap either!! However, fresh seafood like this are just delicious in my not-very-vast experience. If I have extra money, I wouldn’t mind buying (and eating!) it.
