Be Excited! The Adventure Racing (AR) World Series is Coming to Malaysia!
You heard right! Malaysia has been selected as a race destination for this coveted ultimate multidiscipline endurance of human endeavour as part of the Adventure Racing (AR) World Series!
What is more exciting is that Malaysia is the first country outside Europe and the Americas to host this world’s most competitive endurance race, making it the first destination set in a tropical climate.
To be held in Pahang from 19th until 23rd October, the state is an ideal destination for such a multi-task race due to its vast ecological surroundings, availability of multi-terrains, as well as historical background.
This Malaysian chapter of The Adventure Racing (AR) World Series is organised by the Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine Malaysia (SSEMM) headed by Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr Mohd. Mydin Mohd. Musa, alongside the Wilderness Medicine Associates Malaysia (WMA Malaysia) as a supporting organisation for additional medical backup and Persatuan Pemotoran Malaysia (Motoring Association of Malaysia) as the logistic supporter. The event is endorsed by Pahang Tourism.
Endurance athletes and outdoor racing enthusiasts for Adventure Racing (AR) World Series in Malaysia will cover no less than 380 km which will include navigational skill, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, caving, abseiling and for the 1st time in ARWS history… TREE CLIMBING.
Staying true to the rules of ARWS races, all participating teams comprise of four members, of whom at least one is from the opposite gender. Besides competing against the other teams, they will also have to face challenging conditions during the monsoon season, a totally new and extremely challenging course, as well as physical and mental fatigue, as this endurance race, acknowledged as the toughest in the world, goes on non-stop day and night.
For a team to be classified, every member has to complete the course. Therefore, everyone ought to be equally fit and mentally agile. Moreover, teamwork is very important. The team that comes in first place will receive a cash prize of USD5,000 and priority to enter next year’s AR World Series.

Entry fees are USD870 (for Malaysian teams), USD1,800 (for international teams), and USD400 (for Malaysian teams) and USD500 (for international teams) under the Youth category (below 18).
