Since the Coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019, I think most of us have done enough research on the internet on what is Coronavirus, which was later given the name COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

  

Therefore, in this blog post, I won’t answer the question, “Apa itu Coronavirus?” Instead, I share with you, how long does COVID-19 live on the various surfaces that we come in contact with in our daily lives.

  

According to this table released by WebMD, on general Coronaviruses, not specific to COVID-19, the virus can live on copper for 4 hours, and 5 days on metal. What I wish to know, in addition to these materials, is how long COVID-19 lives on clothes.

I received these visuals from a friend via WhatsApp, so I cannot vouch that they are 100% accurate. This is because even on the WHO website, the organisation is vague and non-committal. Can’t blame them because COVID-19 is so new and there is still much to discover about this virus.

  

What we do know at this point, is that the virus is highly contagious. In the past 4 months, more than a million people have been infected globally, with about 60,000 succumbing to the virus. 

These visuals shared in this post are aimed to guide you, stressing on the importance of regular hand-washing, disinfection and sanitisation. We have also been advised to take a shower and wash our clothes as soon as we return home from running our errands.

Should you wear a mask? Under normal circumstances, to mask or not is optional. On the other hand, a proper mask is compulsory for frontliners, crowded places, those who are ill (this group should stay at home) and caregivers. Stay safe, everyone!
