Announcement: Thrangu Dharma Retreat Centre Tambun: CNY Programme 2015 & Sponsorship

The Thrangu Dharma Retreat Centre in Tambun has drawn up a Chinese New Year programme for devotees. Here it is:

16th – 18th Feb, 2015:
4pm – 5pm: 3-day Mahakala Puja by resident lama, Lama Sangye to express gratitude towards the Dharma Protector for their past year protection and compassion and to invoke the blessings, peace and greater protections for the coming New Year.
*3 days of light offering is available at any amount of contribution or other offerings.

19th Feb 2015 (1st Day Chinese New Year)
9am – Green Tara Puja & Lighting of Green Tara Lamp for the whole year
10.30am – Sung Puja

22nd Feb 2015 (4th Day Chinese New Year)
9am – Hang Longtak

5th March 2015 (15th day of Chinese New Year – Chap Goh Meh)
10am – Chenrezig Puja
12pm – Complimentary buffet vegetarian lunch is served at centre

Meanwhile, the temple committee has set targets for the cave project for the year. They are as follows:

A) 4th Floor Main Shrine Hall
1) Construction of the Mahakala Statue & glass enclosure
2) Construction of the Five (5) lotus seats for the 5 Directions (wisdom) Buddha Statues
3) To fix the 4 Mandala paintings on the ceilings & appropriate design drawing to give the final enclosure touch up

B) 3nd Floor Retreat Room
4) Construction of shrine cabinet & backdrop design drawing to adorn the three (3) Statues

C) 1st Floor
5) Re-Construction of new marbles flooring & side shrine
6) Purchase of 2 door Knockers

In 2014, the temple management had successfully completed the 10ft Maitreya Buddha & 1m Green Tara statues, in addition to some smaller works.

Therefore, they are hoping for the same strong financial support and generosity from devotees and well-wishers to realise their plans for the year ahead.
