25th SAS Cup 2016: Day 5 – Pakistan (1) – India (5)

Pakistan and India have been long-time rivals in hockey. Therefore, this was a much awaited match for fans of both teams.

However, India are an Olympic team whilst Pakistan are still building up their team after being missing from the international hockey scene for more than a year due to internal issues.

As expected, India outclassed Pakistan 5 to 1. The margin could have been bigger if not for a penalty stroke that went wrong and a miscall by the umpire who disallowed a legit goal.

But since there is no video referral at this Sultan Azlan Shah tournament, the umpire’s decision stood.
