This was a match that many looked forward to. Although Australia had virtually sealed their spot in the final, the outcome of this match would determine Australia’s opponent in their next match.
The South Koreans played an attacking game that the Aussies defended really well. In most of the first half, it looked like both teams were trying to find the winning formula.
Conceding their first goal in the tournament via a penalty corner that was hotly contested by the Aussies, once they broke away, there was no looking back.
32-year-old Liam De Young played his 300th game for Australia. He was one of just 4 players to achieve 300 international caps or more.
