One of the participants, Maj (R) Abu Bakar from Sg. Siput found that by being a member of Ipoh Vintage Car Club, he has made new friends who shared his interest in vintage cars. Driving a striking red 1962 MG Midget, which he has owned since 1992, Maj Abu Bakar who also has a Mini 850, a Morris 1000, a Vespa scooter and two Raleigh bicycles at home, urged all vintage and classic car owners to join the club for fellowship.

The owner of the lone 1956 MG Magnet, James Foo, shared it was quite taxing to upkeep his car, an inheritance from his late father. Working in Kuala Lumpur, James doesn’t fail to take the car for a spin whenever he returns to Ipoh, his hometown. Having maintained the car for the past 12 years, James sees himself taking care of the car as long as possible, in memory of his late father.
