I literally walked into University Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak Open Day yesterday when I was in the area for something else. I went to have a look; well, at least now I can say that I have been to university. Only, this carries a different meaning!

UniKL RCMP’s Open Day is a mash-up of activities that included an education and career talk (Ceramah Pendidikan dan Kerjaya), food and fun fair and entertainment in the form of a student DJ who handled song requests and dedications; reminding me of Children’s Day at my old school.

Folks from the Perak State Health Department were on hand to educate the public on dengue fever and the type of mosquitoes that we should watch out for. I swat them all just to be safe! Also, many people unwittingly breed mosquitoes at home so make sure there is no stagnant water around.

A few representatives from Buddies Society of Ipoh also came to create awareness on HIV/AIDS. Some of the questions they tried to answer were:

Apakah HIV? (What is HIV?)
Apakah AIDS? (What is AIDS?)
Bagamana HIV dijangkiti? (How is HIV contracted?)
Bagaimana HIV tidak dijangkiti? (When is HIV not transmittable?)
