Top 5 Attractions at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland, RWG

When I informed my friend that I’m making a trip to Resorts World Genting, he exclaimed, “What? Again?”

Indeed, again! Why? There are just so many things to see and do at Resorts World Genting (RWG), a visitor can never get bored. To me, RWG is like a mega fairyland that one can leave all stress behind and not think about anything but having a good time. Hence, my repeated visits!

Did you know that there is a new attraction at RWG? Fully opened on 16th Feb, 2018 (1st day of Lunar New Year), it is known as Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland, or in short, Big Box. Located on Level 4 of SkyAvenue, countless hours can be spent here playing, learning, eating and of course, enjoying!

In today’s post, allow me to share with you my personal top five attractions found at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland. Although I experienced them all during my recent trip to SkyAvenue, this is a list in random order, with no particular preference.

1. Alive Museum: 4D Trick Art Gallery

Enter a world of fun, engaging optical illusion, courtesy of the creativity of a South Korean artist, commissioned to transform the space here with these 4D visuals.

From the moment one sets foot into Alive Museum and be cheerfully greeted by the interactive, luminous Malaysian jungle, to passing through the exit, any visitor is certainly blown away by the world of imagination, created by the murals that encompass multiple imaginary scenes and landmarks.

Marvel at the numerous artwork here and take as many photos as you wish to fill up your social media accounts. Fans of Korea will be exceptionally thrilled to pose with their idols, namely Lee Kwang Soo, Gong Yoo and Song Joong Ki.

Not good at posing? Be guided by the various photographs that give you an idea on how best to capture the photo for that illusion to work. The floor is also marked with the best spot for the photographer to stand and shoot.

Oh, visiting alone? No problem! Crew members of Alive Museum are more than glad to lend a hand to record these indelible moments for your photo album.

2. Zombie Outbreak

Face your fears and get the sh*t scared out of you at Zombie Outbreak, one of the most frightening attractions at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland. This is unsuitable for the timid, expectant moms or unsupervised children.

Experience how it is like to be the last survivors of a nightmare Zombie Apocalypse. Once you go past the entrance, there is no turning back except to look for the exit at the other end of the building. Horror awaits inside.

3. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium

If you are into oddities, curiosities and all things extraordinary, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium is the place for you. Take time to read information on the exhibits, in both English and Mandarin. Shocking as they may be, these are true facts.

Take as many photos as you wish, pose with the bizarre Vampire Woman, J. T. Saylors, Johnny Eck, and numerous other displays, such as the commemoration of the World Trade Centre made solely from matchsticks.

If you are in search of prosperity, the lucky room at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium is the appropriate place to be. There are collections of lucky charms from tribes around the world, for instance Ho Tei: The Good Luck Buddha. Have your aspirations fulfilled by rubbing his potbelly.

4. Jurassic Research Centre

Like Dino Haven to all who are fascinated with these animals that have gone extinct, massive figures of dinosaurs are spread throughout the centre. There are some 70 different species of dinosaurs, and their information in English is displayed so that visitors can read up on the exhibits as they walk through the premises.

This interactive centre allows visitors to get up close and personal with dinosaurs, not one, not two, but many of them! There is also a fossil laboratory to study the different specimen models of dinosaur fossils with detailed inscriptions.

Although these are obviously man-made models, they are as similar to the real deal as possible. The highlight of Jurassic Research Centre to me is the 4D experience to witness velociraptors wreck havoc in a discovery lab.

5. PlayTime! Video Games Park

This is where visitors can play cutting-edge arcade games. From PacMan to Spacetime Squad Virtual Reality, one is assured of an amusing time simply due to the wide range of games to pander to different interests.

Do take note that eZiCash card can be used for all video simulation machines, redemption machines, skill games and kiddie rides at PlayTime!, Vision City and Funtasy World Video Games Park.
