Rosak!!

Rosak is the Malay word for “out of order”.

A couple of evenings ago, I went to Tesco hypermarket and my friend wanted to use the toilet so I walked with her and saw these lockers near the toilet. I have to say that although I have been to Tesco a million times already, I have never used their toilet so I never had the occasion to come to this corner of the building.

I was like, “Whoa, I didn’t know there are so many lockers here!” There’s also the same stretch of lockers over on the other side of the corridor; really impressive. On closer inspection though, all those white little stickers on the locker doors show the locker number with the word, “ROSAK!!”

My goodness, as you can see from this photo, almost half of these lockers are out of order! The same could be said for lockers on the other side of the corridor as well!

In Malaysia, it is not uncommon to see things that are already out of order and placed aside without bothering to repair and maintain and the word ROSAK is everywhere but Tesco is a private company and I thought that the work attitude of the management staff would not be as lackadaisical. Guess I thought wrongly!

NSFW Primary School Shoes

I am sure most of us who spend a considerable amount of time online would know that NSFW stands for Not Safe For Work.

When I came across this placard for school shoes a couple of evenings ago in Tesco, I couldn’t help but take a picture.

For the life of me, I could not understand why they used NSFW instead of some other initials. I didn’t even see this on the shoes, if it was the brand. So what’s so not safe for work are these primary school shoes?

I Spy With My Little i

Coming from Ipoh, I have had my fair share of being teased that people from Ipoh are Ah Bengs and Ah Lians. Honestly, I do not see the difference between Ipoh guys and gals from guys and gals from other cities. Maybe I do not see “it” because I am an Ah Lian myself. Actually, how do Ah Bengs and Ah Lians look like?

Anyway, I was in Tesco just now and I saw this guy, really odd person with so many accessories hanging around him and so colourful to boot. I’m sure that sometimes we do come across people like this guy, and those people are usually vagrants; dirty, unkempt and smelly but not this guy. He looked very neat, clean and no smell that I could detect.

As you could tell, these were spy shots and I dared not imagine what would happen if he caught me shooting him. I really wanted to take a front shot to show you that he has a badge of the flag of the United States on his cap, his belt and the strap of his multi-coloured plastic container.

If you enlarge these photos, you could see that he has his mobile phone hanging down from his container and on the other side, there was a grey furball. I don’t know what that’s for but I also have a pair of yellow furballs that I use to tie up my hair.

Although I go out a lot, this is the first time I have seen such an eccentric character like this. :-D
