With Love

I bumped into the Full Throttle Roadhow at Ipoh Parade earlier last evening when I was out shopping. Needless to say, I wasted no time and flipped out my iPhone and snapped away.

This series of photos is not up to my expectations mainly because the space was seriously tight and there was not much room to maneuver.

If I remember correctly, this is the third mini autoshow in Ipoh that I have attended in recent months. This Full Throttle Roadshow at Ipoh Parade from 15th to 18th August, 2008 is a preview of what is in store for us at the Full Throttle Autoshow which will be held at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, on 22nd to 24th August, 2008 from 12noon to 12 midnight.

Prior to attending this Full Throttle Roadshow, I have seen banners and buntings around town promoting the event and I marked the dates in my calendar, thinking that I would shoot some photos, or even a video with the Olympus. It has been a long time since I made a video, right?

Well, now I learnt that the entrance fee is RM15 per person but during this Roadshow, 3-day passes are sold at a promotional price of RM35 only. This is a savings of RM10. I do not know how good their ticket sales are but while I was there, it did not look like anyone bought any tickets. It’s still early days, though and it was only the first day of the Roadshow.

Still, to me, RM15 or RM35 is too much just to get some shots. I know, there will be way more cars, bikes and leng luis than this Roadshow, but I guess, I will only go if I could get my hands on a couple of free passes.

And if I get to go, that’s free publicity for them because there will surely be another post on the event. Otherwise, I guess I will just work over the weekend. LOL So, who is planning to go? Will there be anyone travelling to Ipoh just for the show?

According to the flyer, besides fast cars and hot girls, there will be a breakdance competition, emcee and DJ scratching competition, I.C.E. (in car entertainment), audio visual display, drifting and some other surprises.

HHmm the more I write, the more I wanna go but like I said, only if it’s free!

I took these photos when I was in Kinta City last evening. Most people were busy with the games over at the other end of the concourse. I think there were prizes up for grabs, that’s why.

Anyway, I did not bother with the games as we had to register and then wait for our names to be called. I just took these photos and ciao-ed.

There weren’t many people interested in the race car when I was around, at least less of a crowd than the auto show where the Jaguar XF was displayed in Ipoh Parade two months ago.

Even so, each time I was about to take a shot, people would come over at the other side that I inevitably captured them on my image as well but at least the security guard turned away LOL

Although I have been a fan of Formula One for years now, living in backwater Ipoh, this was the first opportunity I had getting close to a real Formula One race car. The car is larger than it looked on television. It was like a boat.

I have to confess that ING Renault F1 Team is not my favourite F1 team but heh, this was at good as it gets unless I head to Sepang during race weekend, so not complaints!

I also took a couple of photos from the first floor. I actually took a few more but deleted them because I think they were spoilt by balding heads. SIGH

Children had the chance to race against each other in remote control cars and I think there were prizes of scale car models to be won. There were computer games as well, though I could not see what sort of games they were, except for boxing. LOL

As you can see from these “aerial” shots, the crowd was small but I expect Kinta City to be more crowded on Saturday and Sunday when people usually spend the entire day there even when there’s no special activity, demonstration, roadshow or sale.

If you are in Ipoh and would like to catch the ING Renault F1 Team roadshow, see the F1 race car or camwhore with some ING Renault F1 leng luis, head over to Kinta City tomorrow.
