The two-day weekend Yamantaka Puja & Lama Dance organized by Ipoh Mindrolling Buddhist Association (Persatuan Penganut Ugama Buddha Mindrolling, Ipoh) wrapped up with an amazing Lama Dance, also known as Black Hat Dance.

If you did not attend, you probably missed out on a culturally rich experience. Let’s not talk about religion, OK, as it was open to all non-Muslims. The Black Hat (Lama) Dance aims at clearing obstacles and collecting merits.

In this post, I am enclosing a series of photos shot in the final event of the two-day programme, including the Black Hat Dance (Lama Dance) led by Venerable Ugyen Choephel Rinpoche held on Sunday, 19th October, 2008 at Leong Wan Chin Hall, Perak Girls’ School, Jalan Kampar, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.

The Black Hat (Lama) Dance will be presented by 17 Lamas and will also be led by Ven Tulku Ugyen Choephel Rinpoche.
