Souvenir Making @ Unggul Art & Design
Unggul Art and Design Sdn. Bhd. in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, is a company that makes souvenirs. Offering many different kinds of 2-Dimensional (2D) and 3-Dimensional (3D) souvenirs from awards and medals to corporate gifts, this company is considered a carving specialist.
My friends and I spent some time at the workshop of Unggul Art and Design recently to see first hand how souvenirs are produced. It is an art that requires plenty of patience and skill.
From making the model, then the mould, casting, painting, etc. until the finished product, it looked like quite a tedious process to me but the workers were swift as they were deft with their fingers.
We had the opportunity to go hands-on and painted fridge magnets in the shape of orchids, one of my favourite flowers! I was very happy that I won a prize for my purple orchid, even though it was not the best one, it was my own work! Yay!
