When I came across Professor Cendol, and noticing their bunting that cendol is just RM2 with unlimited refills, I told myself, this is a concept that I certainly must experience.

But getting hold of Professor Cendol wasn’t as easy as it sounds. I first came across their ‘warung’ in Medan Gopeng about three months ago. Due to time constraints, I did not stop.

Fast forward three months later, I purposely made my way there, only to notice that they have relocated. That doesn’t seem like such a huge deal, when Ipoh is not a large city, right? Wrong!

I called the number to enquire about their new location and found that it was their rest day. Arghhh! My investigative foodie trip on their “free unlimited refills” had to be postponed yet again!

Well, the good news is that, finally, I managed to track them down to confirm that yes, they do offer free unlimited refills (tambah percuma). It is really difficult to fathom such a business strategy when the first bowl of cendol is merely RM2!

However, cendol is not the only item offered at Professor Cendol with free unlimited refills. Other dishes on the menu that come with this same benefit are Laksa (RM3), Nasi Goreng Ikan Rebus (RM5) for free rice refill, and pasembur (RM4).

In the case of Professor Cendol, it is truly a matter of eating is believing. By the way, for your information, Professor Cendol is a franchise business, so although there are Professor Cendols in other towns around Malaysia, those are owned and operated by different bosses.

This particular Professor Cendol is the first in Ipoh and has been in business for about a year now. They are currently located along Jalan Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah, a short distance before Simpang Pulai Toll Plaza. To readers, I have only one word of advice: SERBU!!!
