We were at first entertained by a band from MBI, and then there were prayers, followed by a short speech by the Mayor of Ipoh City. Soon after, guests were feted to a wide array of food served at the table and also buffet-style. Impiana Hotel Ipoh treated everyone to free ice-cream too, in addition to all the delicious food!
After dinner, it was gifting time! Kids were handed goodie bags and duit raya (green money packets), while single mothers received gift baskets (they looked heavy!). Representatives of the homes were given huge Hari Raya hampers! Very festive, indeed.
All in all, it was certainly a night to remember, especially for the children!
Let me leave you with a Hari Raya greeting from the Mayor of Ipoh City.
