Ipoh Car-Free Day: Happy New Year 2018

On the last day of the year, there was one more edition of Ipoh Car-Free Day before we ring in the New Year.

This 25th edition of Ipoh Car-Free Day successfully attracted some 8,000 people on Sunday morning to the usual venue along Jalan Raja Dihilir. With the theme “Happy New Year 2018”, it also drew the participation of various government and private agencies.

Among the activities lined up included recycling awareness campaign, cycling, aerobics, health checks, colouring contest and street soccer. There was also a treasure hunt,which brought much excitement to the participants.

According to Ipoh City Mayor Dato’ Zamri Man, the car-free day programme is expected to make Ipoh a low carbon city and engage local residents to rest and relax on a Sunday morning. It was also included in the Visit Perak Year 2017 calendar of events.

  1. Every year also need to join this Car Free Day event! This is a really meaningful event to join as well. Hopefully they can have it in KL in the future =)
