I’ve been going in and out of Ipoh General Hospital way too often than I like these past few weeks. Therefore, I decided to take down all the necessary contact information of the hospital to share on my blog. Hopefully someone will find it useful. Take note of the visiting hours also. They are rather short, aren’t they?

jururawat memang tak pandai jaga pesakit..contoh ,semalam kakak ku yang sekarang menerima rawatan di sini terpaksa mandi darah apabila jururawat tersilap menyuntik tangan kakak saya untuk mengambil darah..Apabila ditanya,alasan nya ialah ,’kalau cucuk mesti sakit dan darah’..Ini ke cara lain pesakit?jagalah pesakit seperti ibu bapa kita sendiri..dan lift pula rosak…menyukarkan keluarga pesakit untuk naik dan turun,terpaksa guna tangga..
My son infant 10 days admitted in Wad 6C.On 14.April.2012 my My son was crying for more than 30 minutes but not attended by the Nurse ( Mastura ) on Duty.Moreover she spent more time on phone during night shift. Most of the parent do not want to complain directly because they afraid to the Nurse. Hospital Ipoh really giving a good service.The Doctor all are very passion and do the Job due deligently.Please apologize me using this word some VIRUS like Nurse Mastura will spoil the Ipoh GH Reputation pls see this issue seriously. my mom was admitted to wad 1B on 17.5.2012.she was partially blind. she was admitted for breathing difficulty. she was wearing diappers. when her diappers was soiled I asked the nurses to change the diappers for her. I have asked 3 nurses the answer was they’re busy now and will change the diappers later. after 3 hours they still didnt come then I asked the 4th nurse (the one with a green rank on her shoulder) she change the diapper in 10 minutes. one time my mom soiled the plaster (that plasters the needle stuck in her hand) I have asked 2 nurses to change the plaster because flies were flying around my mum’s hand but they didn’t come to my aid. that was 3 hours ago. the nurses don’t bother to take care of the cleanliness of the patients. maybe they think it is job of the patient’s family to keep the patient clean. what will happen if no one visit the patient on that particular day. nurses in hospital raja permaisuri bainun, ipoh are not doing their job well nowadays.
My father was admitted to the Hospital last week. i found that they are really short of nurses. so i don’t have any comment to the nurses even though the services is not good. but 1 terrible thing that made me very upset was the DR CHEAH YOU WEI (wad 7A) told my father that his lung was malfunction, can’t recover(with rude tone of voice) , can discharge on this Friday – 18 July 2012. is this a dr?? A dr is not only to cure people’s body but mind. a dr has to motivate and make people to live not to go to hell. my dad is very sad now,he cried this afternoon.if his father is at the same situation, does him expect other dr to treat his father like this? i can stand for his bad attitude, but i lost patience with this.

Saya bukan nak kata. Cuma meluahkan ketidakpuasan hati ternadap perkhidmatan nurse di hospital ipoh. Sebelum itu untuk makluman saya juga merupakan salah seorang staf di hospital kuala lumpur. Saya ingin menyatakan bahawa perkhidmatan nurse di hospital ipoh amatlah tidak memuahkan. Sememangnya tugas nurse untuk menukar diapper pesakit. Tidak usahlah dinafikan. Tapi apa yang berlaku terhadap anak buah saya (ward 6B) diapper tidak ditukar, tempat kumuhan air kencing tidak ditukar, kahak tak disedut dan bermacam lagi. Sehinggakan ada infekction. Bila waris datang dsutuhnya waris buat semua. Adakah tugas nurse adalah mengarah waris? Saya ingin menjawab kenyataan seorang nurse (wahida). Sememangnya saya tahu memang besar pengorbanan nurse tapi itu buat nurse yang buat kerja. Bukan nurse yang main hp waktu kerja dan bergosip waktu kerja. Itu belum lagi dikira yang jual beli di ward. Untuk pengatahuan nurse semua anda memang sudah memilih jalan ini untuk meneruskan kehidupandan juga

Pilihan ini juga bukan lah kerja semata-mata tapi anda semua adalah bergaji. Tidak kurang anda semua mendapat bonus. Oleh hal demikian berfikirlah adakah anda menjalankan kerja dengan amanah? Jangan diungkit pula diakhirat. Jika anda rasa tidak dapat menjalankan tugas yang dipertanggungjawabkan lebih baik duduk di rumah sahaja.
Akhir kata… Jangan sampai saya mengambil tindakan yang sepatutnya dengan membawa masalah ini ke pihak yang sepatutnya.
Kepada Nurse2 semua terutama bernama waheeda diatas.
Kalau bukan tugas nurse untuk menjaga pesakit (tukar lampin, kebersihan badan pesakit, keselesaaan pesakit di hospital), siapa lagi? Kalau gaji anda dibayar kepada para tukang cuci, mereka ni pun sanggup cuci najis pesakit. Begitu juga Doktor, kalau malas nak amalkan kedoktoran yang sebenar baik buka klinik sendiri (memang tak ramai orang kalau perangai buruk). Sama juga kerjaya lain yg deal dengan orang ramai, mesti terpaksa melayan kerenah customer/stakeholder masing2 secara profesional.
Kalau anda pergi bank, ada ke staf kaunter suruh customer @ waris buat sendiri? Kalau dah kerja tu , buat je la..
memg semua tugas tukar diapers, mndikan patient semua tugas nurse. tp seorang nurse bukan kene jage sorang patient je.. sorang nurse kene jage hampir 20 orang patient setiap hari. dalam mase yg same kene buat report, amik vital sign, buat dressing dengan fon lg bedering x henti2 dan macam2 lg la… sbb tu pihak hospital membolehkn fmily member menjage pesakit walau pon seorang supaya mereka boleh bantu didalam menukar diapers, bg mkn dan juga mandi… kalau awak semua nak tau macam mane tugas sebagai seorang nurse, cuba awak semua dduk dlm ward satu hari.. awak rase2 ada x mase awak semua nak dduk rehat dan makan???
Masa bapa saya masuk Wad 7A, dia tak mampu makan sendiri tetapi tiada nurse yang suapnya sehingga kami sampai. Plastik kencing yang penuh tetapi tidak dibuang. Kami meminta diapers ditukar tetapi lebih daripada 10 kali pun tiada orang layan kami. Tiada orang memberitahu kami hari bapa saya discharge. Semasa discharge, kami perlu menunggu 2 jam untuk mendapat surat doktor. Kami diberitahu bapa ada ultra sound check tetapi dua minggu selepas discharge borang pun belum disediakan. Kerajaan yang selalu membazir duit di projek yang tidak berguna patut memperuntukkan lebih wang untuk melatih lebih nurse dan doktor.

They have lost my dad’s blood test report and he had to do the test all over again. Talking about integrity and responsibility?!
My mom had a minor surgery on 21st March 2013 to take out a tube that was inserted into her urethra, no medicine or antibiotic was given and she was treated as outpatient. She complained about the pain, but no medicine was given. On 25th March at 4am, she fainted at home and she was rushed to the hospital again. Apparently a lot of doctors came to see her, but no one even care to tell her what was wrong and what causes the incident.
Now I begin to wonder if they are even qualified practitioners, or maybe all qualified talents are happily serving other countries such as Singapore, etc..

The service at Ipoh GH is the worst and irresponsible medical practitioners that I ever seen.
My mother in law was admitted on 25-06-2013 due to anemia. This was a case referred from clinic doctor who performed a blood test on her and found that she had extremely low blood counts.
Upon arriving at GH, we went through normal admission procedure. It took her 5 hours to get to the ward. As usual, nurses came to took blood for test, waited for hours for the report, a trainee (doctor) came and ask stupid questions….
Till night only the 1st pack of blood transfusion started. The next morning, we asked the doctors who came for rounding, about the cause of the anemia and the answer is Tunggu Repot.
At night, they put her on glucose drip but we are still puzzled what is going on. The next morning, a nurse came and put on another pint of blood. We just kept quiet until doctors came again. And we ask if the report is out and the cause is identified. Unfortunately, answer is Tak ada apa…..
The next day, we were told that she needs to go back on 22/7/2013 for endoscopy test and 30/9/2013 for echo test. We were again scratching out head…. for what and why?
Yesterday, my mother in law complained of upper abdominal pain at 3am. We sent her to A&E at GH and again, check blood, PR, BP… and she was pushed to the Wad Pemerhatian that was actually a corridor, left there till 4pm, ( 12 hours ) then a doc came to do an ultrasound and told us she had a stone at her bladder. We wanted to ask further but she just said “Tunggu specialist datang”. and we waited.
A doctor came, checked her, said she will take her for a thorough ultrasound to be performed by a radiologist tomorrow morning, so she needs to admit her, bla bla bla…..
until 8pm she was still lying at the casualty wad…..??????
This morning, after starving her the whole nite, we overheard that they could not do a test today due to Fully booked…
Appointment is TENTATIVELY fixed on 19/7/2013… subject to availability…..????? WTF
We couldn’t get a person who knows what’s going on to tell us the actual situation. A nurse came and said Aunty boleh balik… A SOPD doc said we will keep her in the ward and see if there is space tomorrow…. A so called senior doctor believed to be from SOPD too came and said they will discharge her and come back on 19/7/2013. WHat’s all these ???? I insisted on an explanation but he is telling me I want what you want to do to all patients so that all these patients don’t have to stay here at all…. Since the old lady was already admitted, why can’t she be given the priority to do a scan first?? Afterall, it is just a 10 mins exercise….
I asked what is the suspected sickness that causes the illness and the senior doctor answered – I see her as very fit to be discharged as she can walk, sleep and eat. Stones in gall bladder might not need surgery as it is harmless. We need to respect the dates given by other doctor as we can’t force them to do things we want….
I was very upset and asked how sure are you that she is not facing any life threatening diseases that could be striking her anytime as she is showing signs of fever. The answer given was the ultrasound even it is done today can’t tell you when and what will make her die…… OMG….

those who are complaint the nurses, please complain directly to the nurses. do not complain at the back because is really not used. changing diapers, feeding the patients is not a nurses work. we helped the PPK. public should know what the nurses job actually. even it’s not our work we still do because of we think that the patients are our relatives even the patients own relatives not helping at all. I still remember the first words patient will said to us when we cleaning them, thanks dear u done it for me even my own blood relation also won’t touch this, sorry to disturbing you guys. we just reply to them back it’s ok aunty no problem ur own blood relation also will go for the same situation as they done it to you. god watch all this and repay it back to them. y patient do not complaint much because we really giving gud care to them and why the relatives used to complain especially nurses because we doing their work and they demand more from us like we r their maid. those are complaining about nurses please do read what are the nurses job.and do not complaint the trainee doctors don’t know anything, actually according to the law they cannot take any decision without discuss to the specialist. government hospital lake of the specialist because after the specialist completed their agreement with government they moved to private hospital. about the blood result please complain the lab person, if the result lost or not there it is not causes by nurses or doctors, it is happen because of the lab person. different rt. finally I just want insist here if u r not satisfied u can ask for it u have right for that dun wait and complaint at the back not used

dont simply complain on others. changing patient pampers was not in nurses job scope, do public understand this statement. a nurse tk care 20 patients, she is not robot, but human being, cant fullfill all patients needs. appreciate their work rather than complain abt them. they are noble, handling wit patients life. think wisely before criticize on them.

My mother was in the hospital for about a week before she passed away. She received VERY good care while she was in the ward. I witnessed the care of both the doctors and nurses.
Now I have a request – would some one tell me how to request a medical records for my mom from the GH? My sibling tossed away her medical records. I need a copy to make an insurance claim.

nurse(melayu) kat sana kerja nak melawa je. kalau bedak tak tebal seinci. tak sah . pemalas nokharomnya buat kerja . yang nurse-2 yang veteran, jaga pesakit pun kasar-2. pernah sekali aku masuk hospital, nak cucuk masuk air lah, dia jolok tangan aku sampai berlubang n berdarah. nurse apa macam tu . rawat binatang ke rawat manusia . hadehh .

Read all the comments and I believe that as with other organisations there
are the good and also the bad. I used to visit private hospitals but after taking early retirement, I started to visit GH. Sometimes I get good services but at others bad. Today was one of those bad times. I arrived early for 9am appointment, got a number 7 but only saw the doc at 11.20 am. My visit today was to get my blood and urine test results which I had taken more than two weeks ago. However, the different doc was unaware even after spending some time reading my medical record. I had to ask and was given the answer that the results can only be available before 4 pm and that the results could be misplaced or lost. I was then told to go and make an appointment at radiology first. I did so and returned to see the doc to confirm and also for my 2 test results. However, the nurse gave me a form saying that I am to go for a blood test at a given later date. I was surprised and told her that I had already done it more than two weeks ago.She then went to consult the two doc inside and the assistant doc came out to tell me that my kidney (urine test) was fine. I then asked if everything else was fine and she said yes. Although I only said ‘everything’ and did not specify blood, I hope and took it in good faith that she understood i was referring to the blood test. However, I am curious as to why I was told to go for another blood test by the nurse.
Another curious thing is that during two visitations, both docs was looking at their smartphone during consultation. I had to wait for a quite few minutes before they gave me their diagnosis.
I asked the receptionist when I made my appointment on why procedures are slow and was given the reply that there were too many patients and too few staff. Not a good answer because as I walked around I saw some relaxed staff at some counters.
Perhaps the Admin Dept. Might want to move things around: more enforced and refreshed courses for efficient coordination so that test results are properly filed in patient’s files immediately after so that the docs can have immediate access to them instead of being oblivious and then have to search for them during the patient’s visit. After all, the staff have more than two weeks to do that. Probably this may also ease the problem of having the poor number 14 patient see the doc at 11.20am.
If the blood/urine test dept. are really overworked, Admin might perhaps release some relaxed counter staff and engage more efficient, responsible and professional nurses/doctors. After all, most of the retired patients used to be taxpayers and are entitled to good services.
Having given my feedback, I wish to thank those whom I have encountered who have truly worked hard to contribute in their jobs at GH.

I am currently enrolling mbbs.I would to like help the hospital nurses or doctors like bringing the patients to them and enquiry them.I dont mind of helping or cleaning the patients too.I want to do because feel how does the nurses and doctors are energetically helping the patients although alot of them are coming for visiting per day.Doctor and nurse job is such a noble job.I would like to coming to do this on weedends because I have classes on weekdays.I can entertaint and take care well of the patients.However to do this,I need Your hosp Head permission.I KNOW MY REQUEST IS NOT ALLOWED BUT now my intention is to do service.This is because its does not need any qualification and I want to see and share the agony of patients gone through due diseases and write the article in order to spread the kindness and compassionate to the People.REMEMBER I DONT NEED ANY WAGES/SALARY TO DO THIS WORK.ONLY I NEED IS PERMISSION AND WITH OPEN HEART I CAN DO IT.

I would like to express my greatest thanks and appreciation to the entire staff on the 7th floor of B section Hospital. Thank you to the nurses for their high level of professionalism and the warmth, attention and devotion that they displayed for me well the rest of my that spent time at the Hospital. Their determination to have things done as quickly and efficiently always came through in everything they did. Without them stay at the Hospital would not have been as manageable and comfortable. Thank you so much for everything. Especially great thanks to those doctor’s in 7B ( Dr. Loh (pakar neuro), Dr. Singh ,Dr.Mok, Dr. izzat, Dr. nabilla, and few of them I can’t memories their name but i would like say great thanks and really appreciate their great support and concern.

They are absolutely great and very attentive. I’m a constant patient in Government hospital & sometimes private hospital. My observation on people behavior is some they didn’t realise they only pay such a small fees for GH but yet they expect 5 star service from nurse & doctor.
The way some patient kins are very rude towards nurses & treat them like your servant.
Why GH have to wait so long because they have so many patients all the time & because the fees are minimal.
If you want fast & excellent service, please go to private hospital. They have more nurse than patient, sure they can attend you the soonest. Imagine if GH one nurse have to handle 20 people with different characters & demands for sure the face will turn black face. But ask back yourself, did you ever sincere thanks them & smile back at them when ever they help you? If you smile at people sincerely, normally people will smile back at you, indirectly you gave positive enery to the nurse who on duty. If you want to be treated nice by others, then treat others nicely as well.

My mother name is Ho Lai Peng & I am not sure what my mum medial diagnose medical conditions as my family given different respond. I believe my mum is in palliative care. Is it possible for to call the public hospital and talk to her doctor to give me my mum condition as I found out they moving her soon to Batu Gajah hospital this week. Please. HELP to understand what going on with my mum, Due COVID 19 I unable to,go home. I am in Australia.
I really wish the parkng issue at GH Ipoh would be addressed. My sister took my elderly mum there today and it was really quite difficult. I looked it up and there was supposed to be a shuttle service but when my sister asked today, they said it was suspended due to Covid. Fortunately we have part-time homecare so could arrange for a medical escort to wait with mum while my sister went 10 rounds to find a parking space. The new building’s parking spaces are apparently for doctors only. (maybe also nurses, I’m not sure on that part). Fair enough, but something needs to be done to fix this. I understand and appreciate that it’s super cheap/free but at least make it accessible, especially for seniors and their carers. As for the nurses, we have encountered some nice ones so far. The matron on the other hand tried to bar my sister from the appointment in the clinic with the doctor which was stupid since she’s the patient’s daughter. We are looking to admit my mum in the GH for some necessary treatment so I hope its not too bad an experience. We shall see, There is truly a massive number of patients there so I do understand it can be challenging and all that. But the parking issue is madness. I told my sister to use Grabcar next time but this ought not be the case.
