The event offered an opportunity for the Mayor to get to know members of the local media fraternity better, and at the same time, enabled the press to forge closer ties with those who represent the City Council, such as City Councillors and department heads.

It was also a gesture to thank the local media for working closely with the Ipoh City Council over the years, particularly these past seven months since his appointment as Mayor on July 1, 2015.

  1. These luncheons are good to foster better ties between the Mayor and also the local residents. And a good venue to voice out to the Mayor too of one’s concerns for the local community etc.

    Ipoh is becoming more attractive to tourists nowadays, you can tell from the visitor number during weekends.
