CIMB Door Gift

Jul 28, 2009 Author: Emily | Filed under: Personal, Photos - Olympus SP-550UZ

Wow, it has been more than a week since I updated this blog and I feel really bad. The problem is that I never realize where my time has gone. I know I spend a lot of time playing games on Facebook, and I also spend an equal amount of time caring for Snoopy. Many people have the misconception that I am “just caring for Snoopy”. It’s more than that; so much so that I wouldn’t wish the same situation on even my worst enemy.

Anyway, my mother gave me this door gift from CIMB which she received attending CIMB Islamic Max InvestSave Day a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to write this post earlier when the gift was still fresh but I couldn’t sit long enough at my desk to compose a coherent post! I don’t know what this gift is; it looks like something we hang at the door or something.

And talking about computers, my hard disk has died. Boohoo… I did back up my data but that was months ago and not up to date. I wonder if the files could be salvaged and if not, what files I am missing. Right now, my computer is still in hospital, so I all I can do is wait.

Emily? Strange!

Jun 3, 2009 Author: Emily | Filed under: Personal, Photos - Olympus SP-550UZ

People who know me personally would always try to buy me stuff that has my name on it. These are not large, expensive items but just souvenirs, postcards, stationery and small mementos. Those who know me better, though, would get me Emily the Strange merchandise. They know I like her.

This is an Emily the Strange notebook that I received in the mail over two weeks ago. Say nice! I actually see a lot of Emily the Strange merchandise here in Ipoh selling at gift store but I have not bought anything here because I can’t tell if these are genuine or imitation products. I definitely wouldn’t want to buy imitation goods but pay trademark prices! Some girls are stranger than others.

King Gesar Dance

Apr 30, 2009 Author: Emily | Filed under: Events, Photos - Olympus SP-550UZ

In my previous post, Mahakala Dance, I promised that I would be doing a separate post on the King Gesar Dance which was also performed during the Wealth, Long Life & Wisdom Grand Puja in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia over last weekend.

While Mahakala Dance was performed by three dancers, King Gesar Dance was only performed by one dancer. I am sure both dances have their own significant meanings, though the meaning and story behind the dances are lost on me without having to seek Google’s help.

H.E. the IX Kyabje Drupka Choegon Rinpoche conducted this grand puja, which was held over last weekend (Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th of April, 2009) for two full days at Tow Boo Keong Hall in Ipoh. Prior to this, he also conducted similar programmes in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

It’s too bad that these photos did not turn out too well. They seem pretty noisy, don’t they? The flash must have acted up AGAIN! It’s too bad that I wasn’t able to video these dances. They would make a great addition to what I have on YouTube.
