If you have driven past Tambun Road (Jalan Raja DiHilir) this past month, you would have seen renovation work going on at the grounds of an old colonial-style house just opposite Heritage Hotel, between Prima View Condo and Seventh-day Adventist Church. I use this road often enough and each time, I wonder curiously the nature of this new enterprise.

Tomorrow, 1st March, Banyan Spa will open its doors for business. Did you expect a beach resort right smack in the city? I did! Hahaha!

Banyan Spa is actually more than a spa. It’s a total wellness destination, where you can expect to be taken care of from head to toe. Want to get your hair set, face made up and a manicure and pedicure for the big dinner at night? These can all be done professionally at Banyan.

I was given a tour of the building and facilities and the place gives off a very relaxing feeling. It exudes exclusivity. According to one of the Directors of the company, Yen, we can expect beauty packages to range in price from RM100 to RM500. Is that too expensive? Can one put a price tag on beauty and wellness?
