The 2nd Perak Education Expo 2011 kicked off this morning at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, Perak. It’s a pretty quiet “expo”; there is an air of seriousness around. Well, education IS serious business.

Of all the expos, exhibitions and fairs that I have visited, I’d say this one’s the smallest. There are only about 50 exhibitors, not inclusive of non-education exhibitors like broadband service providers and credit card promoters. Pantai Group of Hospitals is there to create breast cancer awareness. Are you familiar with the Think Pink! campaign?

Besides the promotion of higher learning and tertiary courses, visitors will also have the chance to gather valuable information on scholarships, loans and/or bursaries. For example, Yayasan Perak is there to offer information on “Dermasiswa Pendidikan”.

Also, there are a few talks lined up over these two days that I believe all fresh school leavers should attend. If you would like to know how to apply for PTPTN (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional) Loan or what you can do with an engineering or accountancy qualification, find out this weekend at Perak Education Expo 2011.
