The 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup men’s invitational field hockey tournament gets underway today at Ipoh’s Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium.

As this is the silver jubilee anniversary, not only is it a hockey competition among the top hockey teams in the world, it is also a celebration for the sport and the tournament.

As you can see, compared to the past recent years, this duration is longer. Participating teams are Australia (world no. 1), India (#7), New Zealand (#8), Pakistan (#10), Malaysia (#13), Canada (#14) and Japan (#16).

There are seven teams all together, including New Zealand the defending champions.
